Starting for the first time

Last updated: January 15, 2025

Find the Intsuite icon on your desktop (If you created a shortcut and placed it there) or look in the folder where you extracted Intsuite for it.

Double click the icon to start Intsuite.

Intsuite will go through a startup process, checking its status with a list of checks in it's splash screen.

If this is the first time running Intsuite on this PC or from this folder, it will ask you togin to Intsuite. Use the email address and password you set when you created your Intsuite account. You only need to do this once. When you have been logged in, Intsuite will remember you and log you in automatically.

You will also be asked to nominate a folder where Intsuite can store your data. We recommend this is not a folder inside the Intsuite folder as updates to Intsuite could cause isues in the future for your data. We recoomend creating a folder alongside your Intsuite folder such as 'intsuite-data'...You can use multiple folders to store your data and keep them separate. For example..If you have multiple clients and you do multiple cases for them, consider creating a folder for each client such as 'intsuite-client1' and all the cases you work on for them will be placed inside that folder. When you start working cases for another clinet, make another folder 'intsuite-client2' and their cases will be saved there.

Once the proces has completed, you will see the Intsuite main dashboard.

This shows you all the statistics from all the cases you have in the curent data folder you are using. On first start, there will be no cases and no intelligence collected, so your stats will not show much.

On the right hand side of the dashboard, you'll see the cases list. All cases in the data folder you are currently using will be displayed here. For first start, the list will be empty.

At the top, click 'Crate' to create a new case. For now, just give it a title of say 'Test' and a quick description of a test case. The case will then appear in the Cases list.

Click and select the case you just created and this will make it the current case for this session. ANy work you do will now be working on that case until you return to the dashboard and select another case in the Cases list.

Congratulations, you have a case to work with!
